Our goal at King Tool Inc. is to manufacture the finest quality Made in USA tools for the professional and amateur metal worker, mechanic, surveyor, sportsman and hobbyist .
About King Tool Inc.:
It all started in 1977 when Clarence Emerson and Jan Young went to help the widow of Len King, late owner of the King Gauge Co. Sally King could not keep up with orders after her husband passed away.
Later that year Clarence and Jan purchased the business from Sally and continued to run it as King Gauge
Until September of 1978 when Jan Young was bought out by Clarence Emerson, at that time stock was sold for the new company King Tool Inc.
King Tool Inc. was moved from it’s humble beginnings on US Forest Service property in the mountains south of Bozeman Montana to it’s first location in the old PictSweet Foods Pea Cannery building in Bozeman. In 1986 King Tool Inc. was moved to its new building on 20 acres just west of Bozeman and has been there ever since .
King Tool Inc. has been managed by the Emerson family since that time, first by Clarence ( President) then by his daughter Susan (Vice President) who also started working in the business in 1978, under King Gauge , several other family members have worked at the business over the thirty years that it has been incorporated. King Tool employs a host of specialized people, Tool & Die makers, machine operators, lathe operators, assembly workers and sales staff. We have a loyal workforce with an average of 12 years service.
King Tool Inc. holds U.S. patents for several tools. Most notably our 4 way pick set which has numerous imitators but none have been able to duplicate our O-Ring removing pick.
